FACT CHECK: Will FG Pay Second Batch Of ₦50,000 Cash Transfer Tomorrow 9th November 2026? What FG Really Said

A message is circulating on Facebook and WhatsApp claiming:

"FG to Begin Second Batch of ₦50,000 Cash Transfers to Poor Nigerians tomorrow 9th November 2026 - Batch B"

Is it true? We checked.

VERDICT: FALSE / NOT CONFIRMED - DO NOT BELIEVE THE DATE.

What FG REALLY Announced:

1. FG started NERSI on 30 October 2026
The Federal Government, through Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, announced on 30 Oct 2026 the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) - ₦50,000 to selected vulnerable households to cushion rising food prices.

Minister said: "Under this intervention, eligible beneficiaries will receive ₦50,000 monthly, providing direct assistance to help meet essential needs."

Note: The official NERSI website FAQ describes it as a one-off ₦50,000 payment. Government has NOT yet clarified monthly vs one-off. Do NOT budget for second payment until FG clarifies.

2. FG Did NOT Announce 9th November As Batch B Date
As at today, Sunday 8 Nov 2026, there is NO official statement from FG, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, or NERSI announcing a Second Batch / Batch B starting 9th Nov.

The viral Batch B message provides no official source, no link to fmhapr.gov.ng, no statement from Minister Doro.

FG only said: Payments are in phases / batches. Providers will contact selected beneficiaries in batches. If you are NOT SELECTED now, wait for next batch - but NO DATE was given, and NO guarantee that everyone NOT SELECTED will be selected later.

3. How Real NERSI Payment Works - No Application:

• NO application form. NO registration. NO agent can add you.
• You are selected AUTOMATICALLY from verified National Identity records + National Social Register.
• You will receive SMS from ONLY ONE of 5 approved providers asking for your consent. Once you consent, money goes to your account / mobile wallet.
• Approved providers ONLY: ALAT by Wema Bank, MoMo PSB, NairaGram, OPay, Moniepoint.

Approved USSD Codes To Check Status ONLY:
- MoMo PSB (MTN users): *671*0#
- ALAT by Wema: *945*23#
- NairaGram: *726*00#
- OPay: *955*20# - check app homepage pop-up
- Moniepoint: *557*327#

If you dial and see "You are currently not selected" - it means NOT in current batch. Wait. Do NOT pay anyone to change it.

4. SCAM WARNING - READ THIS:

Scammers are using this Batch B rumour to steal money. They will send you fake link, fake code, and say "Send YES to this code" or "Pay ₦2,000 to activate".

FG warns:
- NERSI is FREE. No fee. No agent.
- NEVER share your PIN, OTP, BVN, or password with anyone.
- NEVER click link from WhatsApp / Facebook claiming to register you for ₦50,000.
- If anyone asks you for money to get you selected, they are a FRAUDSTER.

5. What To Do If You Have Not Received Money:

1. Wait - providers contact in batches, your SMS may come later.
2. Check status with your provider's USSD code above using your REGISTERED phone number (linked to NIN).
3. Do NOT go to any office to register. There is no registration centre.
4. Do NOT pay any youth leader, pastor, or agent to add your name.

CONCLUSION:

Will some people receive ₦50,000 tomorrow 9th Nov? Possibly - because payments are ongoing in phases. But FG has NOT announced a special Second Batch / Batch B starting tomorrow.
