*Bank of Agriculture Dry Season Financing 2026/2027: How To Apply Through BOA Renewed Hope Fund*
Good news for farmers in Imo State and across Nigeria!
The Federal Government, through the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), has finally opened the Dry Season Financing for the 2026/2027 farming season.
This is coming under the *Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value-Chain Fund (RH-SSVCF)* - a special fund created to help Nigerian farmers farm all year round and not depend only on rainy season.
At Imo Media Hub, we confirmed that this programme is targeting *400,000 farmers* nationwide.
*What Is The BOA Dry Season Financing All About?*
Many farmers stop farming after rainy season because there is no water and no money for irrigation. This BOA programme is here to solve that.
According to a statement released on October 2nd, 2026 by the Managing Director of BOA, Mr. Ayo Sotinrin, the bank has partnered with the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) to reach real farmers.
The goal is simple: Provide financing for inputs and irrigation so farmers can continue production during dry season.
*Who Can Apply? - Very Important*
This is where many people are getting it wrong.
This application is *NOT open for individual farmers to apply directly* on the portal.
The portal is open for:
- *Farmer Aggregation Companies (FACs)* - Companies that work with large groups of farmers.
- *Produce Off-takers* - Companies that buy farm produce and have a network of farmers.
If you are a smallholder farmer in Owerri, Mbaise, Orlu or any part of Nigeria, what you need to do is contact your AFAN chairman in your LGA or your cooperative leader. They are the ones who will apply on behalf of farmers.
*Areas of Support - What You Will Get*
Successful applicants will get support in three major areas:
*1. Farm Inputs:* Financing for quality seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection chemicals.
*2. Irrigation Equipment:* Support for water pumps, irrigation toolkits and other equipment to farm in dry season.
*3. Market Linkage:* BOA will connect you to buyers who will buy your produce after harvest. No more struggling to sell.
*Minimum Requirements To Qualify*
Our correspondent gathered that for any FAC or off-taker to qualify, they must have:
- A cluster of farmers who have access to reliable water source or functional irrigation system.
- Verifiable farm locations - BOA will come and verify the farm.
- Verifiable list of farmers with their farm sizes and hectares planned for dry season.
- Proven experience in farmer aggregation or produce off-taking.
