TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN!
Eligible Nigerians can receive N50,000 in financial support under the Federal Government's National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) programme.
The Federal Government has commenced disbursement of N50,000 cash relief to vulnerable Nigerians under NERSI, a presidential initiative announced on October 30, 2026 by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro.
According to the Minister, the intervention was designed to cushion the effects of rising food prices and the high cost of essential goods on households.
"Under this intervention, eligible beneficiaries will receive N50,000 monthly, providing direct assistance to help meet essential needs and ease the burden of living costs," Dr. Doro said.
He added that the initiative will be reviewed regularly in response to changes in the cost of living, with beneficiaries to be notified before any adjustments.
How To Check Your Eligibility - Dial USSD Code For Your Payment Provider
The Federal Government is working with licensed digital financial service providers to ensure secure and prompt delivery.
Beneficiaries will receive an SMS from one of these providers asking for their consent. Once consent is given, payment is made directly to the beneficiary's account or mobile wallet.
You can also check your eligibility by dialling the USSD code for your payment provider:
- ALAT by Wema Bank - *945*23#
- MTN MoMo PSB - *671*0#
- NairaGram - *726*00#
- OPay - *955*20#
- Moniepoint - *557*327#
Important: Use the codes exactly as listed above. Do not dial any other code sent to you by strangers on WhatsApp or Facebook.
Important Note: Eligibility Is What Matters
Eligibility is what matters. Not everyone will qualify for the relief fund. Beneficiaries are selected based on verified government records and eligibility criteria.
According to the NERSI portal, beneficiaries are identified through verified national identity records and the National Social Register, with the programme targeting poor and vulnerable households.
The programme is being implemented in phases, meaning beneficiaries may not receive notifications at the same time. If your status shows "NOT SELECTED", remain patient and wait for the next batch. It does not mean you will never be selected.
The Programme Is FREE - Do Not Pay Anyone
The programme is free. Do not pay anyone to secure your N50,000.
The Minister stressed that beneficiaries are NOT required to apply, pay any fee or register through any agent to receive support.
"Beneficiaries are not required to apply, pay any fee or register through any agent to receive support," Dr. Doro said.
The Ministry also warned Nigerians NEVER to disclose their Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) or Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) to anyone in connection with the intervention.
If anyone asks you for money, PIN, BVN or OTP to secure your N50,000, that person is a SCAMMER. Report immediately.
